Artomat work + skeleton key sketches

I'm finally making some progress on my next batch of Art-o-mat Mini Masterpieces.  This entire set will commemorate Joan Miro.  I hope to catch the current exhibit at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke before it leaves this winter.

I'm also still going through a big skeleton key stage.  I have been sketching some keys I have purchased.  I have worn one or two of these keys as necklace pendants recently.  I am hoping to translate these sketches into paintings later.  The keys will be a silhouetted subject, much like the gears were earlier in my brightly colored series that I painted earlier this year.

The Union Jack I proudly bear Emblazoned in my bulldog hair. A tribute to a fearsome man: Dear Winston, 'twas your sturdy plan That broke the chains of tyranny. How I desire to honor thee.

IF: Trail

A few years ago, I did this pastel painting of this "watery trail:" the Intracoastal Waterway off the NC Coast. I love the IW, and those who are fortunate enough to have spent time boating on it know how it can draw you into its magic.

IF: Skyline

This is not exactly a skyline, but it is a view from far below the steeple of First Presbyterian Church of Charleston, SC . We had an exquisite trip there on a gorgeous April weekend -- lots of inspirational painting ideas. Sorry this is a late post this week!
