Kandinsky Resources
Students in my Kandinsky class may enjoy these resources to further their education:
- Short interview with Helen Mirren speaking on Kandinsky's paintings at the Museum of Modern Art.
- NPR Podcast on the Life and Work of Kandinsky.
- Art Story page on Kandinsky.
- itunes podcasts on Kandinsky's book, written in 1912, Concerning the Spiritual in Art.
- Book on the Bauhaus School. This book is an excellent nonfiction work about many of the major artists of the 20th century.
- The Noisy Paintbox. This children's book explains simply and beautifully how the artist heard colors (synaesthesia).
- Art teacher who made a dress inspired by Kandinsky's Composition VIII.
- WikiArt page on Kandinsky, including a list of paintings and his series work.
- Jazz band The Kandinsky Effect's short video animating Composition VIII.
